Dear Pleasant Valley Parents and Students:

As we move into fall, we also move into the 2nd quarter.  I am so impressed with the first quarter grades of the students.  I am so happy to see the number of kids who keep their academics a priority.  It is not easy to keep up with daily class work, studying for tests, completing homework and projects.  It takes work and the work is often a challenge, but hard work does pay off.  I encourage parents and students to talk to the teachers if you ever see your child having difficulty with the challenge of keeping up with the work load and expectations of middle school. We want to work with you to help all students be successful.

I was very happy PV had the chance to participate in our Point Break assembly on October 12. We had all 158 of the students in the gym with 17 teachers and parent volunteers all day for this assembly.  Kids had the opportunity to work with kids they didn’t necessarily know and they worked with adults in small groups breaking down the barriers that divide us. We were fortunate to have the opportunity to have this assembly.  I encourage each parent to ask your child about the experience, if you haven’t already done so.  The Point Break team will be back on our campus four more times this year for some follow up.

Later this month we will have students from the Union Mine Leadership class come to PV for a visit for Red Ribbon Week.  The high school students will be leading our 7th and 8th grade students through some anti-smoking, anti-vaping and anti-drug lessons.

Thank you parents for your continued support of your students!
